You get these people coming on on Fake News in Canada on the CBC trying to claim that Canada has made all these rulings and then you go down to the court and they never heard of anything.
What I mean books like James Bond etc., Star Trek, Mickey Mouse, Lord Of The Rings etc., now Public Domain in CANADA / UK Countries etc.,...or just entering soon.
I mean during a court outage and all this since the past 20 years.
They can't change anything during all that, someone just wrote over top of the law on the news releases and nothing ever held up in court.
All drastic law changes in Canada probably since the abolition of the death penalty are not valid today, they are just paperwork on tv ads with no filings.
Just continue as normal I recommend and then just remember they can't change any of that, so just release you material local where you know the law is still always the same.
The local court knows that these scams don't hold up in court, plus many businesses release their own public domain material for the public and themselves to use for things like ad campaigns etc.
I'm also saying the first days of movies, music and television are now Public Domain from before 1927, that is a larger deal so these fake news stories aren't anything at all.
Don't worry...the 800,000 hours you spent preparing your release version of Lord Of The Rings for January 2024 will defeat any local CBC lawyer and the corrupt Canada Parliament in law suits to their own houses for trying to ruin your material last minute with a fake law passage like Sunday Shopping.
