I just recently watched a new video about poverty in the United States and Canada, 1 in 3 women they said live pay cheque to pay cheque with more on welfare that are not reported as statistics because they are non income.
Halifax had a black region until the 1960's called Africville which is supposed to be around the site for the new CFL Stadium, yes there is a monument.
Today in the United States Detroit is their Africville.
They are saying in documentary footage that 80% of the residents of Detroit are black and many live with no water in abandoned housing.
The white people in the remaining 20% are the downtown Detroit City people with the Sky Scrapers and stuff.
Detroit only has a population of 600,000 not that much larger than Halifax Metro with the surrounding area and is the largest City in Michigan.
It used to be 2 Million, that's three quarters of the city left.
80% of them are black and the city is abandoned.
All the white people left when the industries closed.
The "motor city" which it used to be known as was the car manufacturing capital before foriegn car companies opened like Honda etc.
This closed Detroit and everyone left.
Except for the black people.
Now what are we going to do with Detroit...they can't have that setup with only black people and no jobs or housing...they need to fix Detroit or move the people.
We can't have a present day Africville in Detroit.
Just like the Chinese being attacked in Vancouver in Chinatown by hobos and criminals from East Hastings we can't have the black population abandoned like the United States Government did to them in Detroit.
The place needs to be fixed, today's government is not our leadership and a totally failed generation of people.
