CORONAVIRUS: Rent Evictions & Free Internet

Here is a quick point....

They're saying in Nova Scotia that we might be under the Emergency Measures Act and Emergency Health Act until November, right now it's June minimum they are saying.

Like this....

Everyone who falls under the no rental evictions section of the Emergency Measures Act like Nova Scotia, Toronto and New York will not have to pay their rent for the rest of 2020 and into 2021.

This is why.

There will be no evictions until at least starting in November if they continue, that means you do not have to pay your rent until November, then they have to give you three months to vacate the apartment.

That puts you into 2021 with no rent, after that the government has to say how you will resolve the issue with the landlord or you will have to move.

People who get cheques who get their rent paid automatically will have to get other rebates like the Canada Emergency Benefits Cheque or other supplements so they can have similar money to non rent payers in affected areas.

Now this is important....

They are saying to read the internet for daily pandemic updates.....the government may decide to make internet free at home right now during the pandemic so everyone can stay informed about the virus.

That might mean free home internet service, that's what people are asking for.

That's for their protection during the virus.

Then....the government will bail out the internet companies for lost revenue during the crisis when home users don't have to pay.

Then they may also issue rebates on television cable services and then offer new HULU and YOUTUBE television options on the internet with discount credits.

So if someone has no cable hookup they don't get the rebate, but they could use the rebate on the internet service if they offer the cable channels during the crisis.

Like it needs to be balanced so that everyone gets the same thing, if you don't want a cable hook up then you can get it on the internet.

Then the government emergency funding bail outs can go to internet and cable companies for consumer rebates to have free internet and cheaper cable during the crisis.

Then with the extra government rebates and emergency funding you buy essential services only.

All other items can be ordered on the internet like clothes etc. and delivered in the mail.

It is in everyone's best interest and the best case scenario for the public to be on the Emergency Measures Act and Emergency Health Act rules until November like here in Halifax.

People in Toronto are not paying their rent in a keep your rent movement, they will not have to pay until 2021 if the health crisis goes to November.

It is best that you stay home social distance and only use essential services for food, clothes etc.

Then the mail is an essential service....all other products can be ordered on the internet like from Amazon or somewhere then delivered in the mail.

That will reduce physical contact at stores and help you stay home easier, then they may offer shipping rebates to online businesses.

Then with the extra money, stay home under the emergency health act and only online shop using the mail which is an essential service.

Then the internet will become a free essential service to order your products online then have them shipped through the mail.

The extra money from not paying your rent and government rebates can be used to buy a reliable computer to follow the crisis, there also should be rebates on computers during this so you can easily have one, then you can use that on free home internet already available.

So it is in the public's best interest to stay home, save money and shop online through the mail to stop the spread of the virus through social distancing...store fronts can re-open later.

Remember, you do not have to pay your rent if there are no evictions then the government will have to sort that out later after the crisis.

Update...

Not only that, from the previous post, if you don't qualify for the Canada Emergency Benefits Cheque like if your unemployment benefits run out then you have to go on welfare....that is also illegal.

Under that circumstance they HAVE to extend your unemployment benefits because all stores are closed.

That's because you can't get a job when everything is shut down.

So they can't cut off your unemployment cheques then refuse you the Canada Emergency Benefits Cheque because you will have to go on welfare.

That is illegal because they are not allowed to tell you to look for work during the shut down.

If your unemployment cheque runs out it's illegal for them to put you on welfare because you are unable to look for work, the is the rule of unemployment laws.

They will either have to extend the unemployment benefits until you can look for work OR give you the Canada Emergency Benefits Cheque.

So that is a non welfare situation. They have to give you the other money.

The other people on welfare and other government cheques will have to be given more emergency money, that's why no one is paying their rent in Toronto, Canada's largest city probably.

That's because there is too much uncertainty and too many differing situations to cover depending on your personal situation and geographic location during the health lock down.
